Advising

Students will be assigned an advisor from the Committee on Graduate Studies who will be their mentor through the first two years. After consulting with the Director of Graduate Studies, a student may change advisors during the first two years. Students are encouraged to discuss their interests outside of the primary field with faculty from other departments. This process enables students to develop relationships with various faculty members from whom the student will select a dissertation committee.
